おはよう ございます みんあさん。
(Ohayou Gozaimasu everyone)
(Good Morning everyone!)

BIG NEWS

I've become a star for my own Typical Day video! (o^ ^o)
How did it turn out like?
Actually, it is part of our Japanese lesson.
One of the lesson that lead towards it is
"Talking about your routine/typical day"

So yeah, after we've learned the vocabs and
how to talk about our typical routine,
we have to take shoot of ourselves about our routine.

So, there you go, some screenshot of my own Typical Day Video (*/_\)

P.s: I thought this is what sensei want,
but how come all of my classmate videos
are way too DIFFERENT from mine?( ̄▽ ̄*)ゞ

That's all from me, thanks for reading (⌒_⌒;)

Portfolio 11: Drama time!

In the Name of Allah the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

こんばんわ みんあさん。ヽ(>∀<☆)ノ
(Konbanwa Minna-san!)
(Good Evening Everyone!)

It's DRAMA time!!

Oh my God, only God knows how excited
I am when Zoraida sensei said
we're gonna do a DRAMA!
It has been a very long time since I've
ever acted in a drama(well, not in the television).
When was the last time? Ah. I remember,
the last time I've been serious in acting is when
I was in high school. A real drama.
In front of about 300+/- audiences.
A medium where I made friends from
other races. It's a really good experience.
Anyway, that's not what I'm gonna share about(haha).

So, here's the real thing,
we were on the lesson of:
"Welcoming a friend to your house
and show someone around your house"

I knew you guys might be thinking like
"Seriously? Go to their houses?"
Well, we don't go there for the practical(drama) session.
Instead, we did it in a LOVELY
Japanese Language and Cultural Centre
(Well I would call it a Japanese home instead ☆*:.。.o(≧▽≦)o.。.:*☆)

So, here's some pictures of our drama session:-

We learned how the Japanese greet each other when
they enter/visit someone's else house.

It is common for the Japanese people to
praise the house that they are visiting.
It is also common for the Japanese people
to serve their guests with tea.

From what I've learned, Japanese culture really do
stress on politeness and ethics.
For example, the way they sit, the way they serve people,
the way they greet, the way they drink or use a thing
and etc.

What I've shared so far is just a part of their culture.
There are lots of thing to discover!
6 months are not enough to discover all of them.

I wish USIM will open for Japanese II classes 。゚(TヮT)゚。.

That's all from me today, thanks for reading╰(*´︶`*)╯

こんばんわ みんあさん。
(Konbanwa Minna-san)
(Good Evening, everyone)

The more I get further and deeper
in learning Japanese Language & Culture,
The more interesting it gets!
You know, last time
I learned about POSITION nouns.
Never crossed in my mind that I would be
learning how to construct sentences and
how to communicate with others in Japanese.
This class is really unique, it isn't just about theories!
Awesome.

A bit teaser on what we have learned from the Japanese Class:

Some of additional information that I could get from the net:

Try practice it with your family & friends! (◕‿◕)

Portfolio 8: Types of House
Written at Thursday, 29 December 2016 | back to top

In the Name of Allah the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

Hello everyone! We meet again (≧◡≦)

Today I will share you about the types of
Japanese houses that I've learned from my Japanese class.

These are some types of Japanese houses:

1. アパト (Apaato)

2. マンション (Manshon)

3. いえ・いっこだて (Ie/ikkodate)

Even though the pronunciation and the looks of the building seems
to be similar with Malaysian houses
(e.g: apartment, condominium, bungalow),
I really thought that the inside concept
is the same with Malaysia's.
Suprisingly, it isn't the same!
For example, the size of the room/house.
Since Japan has limited land, their houses are usually
small compared to Malaysian's. It's really small that
from just few steps, you could to the kitchen, front door,
toilet, and etc. Well, that's a new thing for me!
Despite of being small, it can't be denied that their houses
are more environmental friendly, for example,
they can bring their pets in Apaato.

Since we learned about room and houses,
Zoraida-sensei has asked us to sketch our
own's housing plan!
Take a look at my beautiful housing plan(haha):

P.s: It is obviously different, right?
My housing plan really looks BIG.
Typical Malaysian am I?
 Haha.

Well, that's all from me for now. (≧◡≦)

Portfolio 7: Kanji Vocabularies
Written at | back to top

In the Name of Allah the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

Hey Guys~! (〃^▽^〃)
Remember last time I wrote on Japanese Characters?
The one that I said I will tell you further later?
Yeah, that's right! It's the kanji Characters!
If you don't get what I'm talking about,
You can refer to my previous post :
Click here to refer my previous post

Yes that's it! In this course that I've been taking,
Zoraida-sensei introduce to us(my classmates and me)
some of kanji vocabularies. We learned it through interactive way,
one thing I love in this Japanese class is that we always
learn through interactive and creative ways!
Like I've told before, Kanji actually were brought over from
China. The difference between kanji and hiragana/katakana,
is that kanji isn't phonetically syllabry
Kanji is a set of characters that represent whole words.
Kanji words basically evolved from a picture of nature/things.
Let's take a look!

The best thing about Japanese Kanji is that, the way we
pronounced kanji characters is exactly the same with
the hiragana/katakana pronunciation.
Below is some of kanji words that we've learned in Nihongo Class:

1. 大(ookii) - Big
2. 小(chiisai) - Small
3. 新(atarashi) - New
4. 古(furui) - Old
5. 肉(niku) - Meat
6. 卵(tamago) - Egg
7. 魚(sakana) - Sakana

Could you figure out how does it evolved from the picture? ;)

P.s: There are actually some examples of kanji that I've posted
in previous posts. Try figure it out (^_~)

That's all from me today, thanks for reading╰(*´︶`*)╯

Portfolio 5: Members of Family
Written at Tuesday, 27 December 2016 | back to top

In the Name of Allah the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

Kobanwa guys! (´。• ᵕ •。`) We meet again, yay~!
In Japan when we want to introduce our family or other people's family,
we use different vocabs. So let's find out what terms do they
use to introduce families

.

First of all, family in Japanese is called Kazoku (かぞく).
Below is the term we used when we are talking about our family.

When we want to refer to other people's family members,
we use these terms:

Extra Vocabularies:

Well, well now do you get the picture on
how to address your own family members
and how to address someone else's family?
How about this, let's try to
introduce our own members of family ( ´ ∀ `)ノ

Here's some basic guideline on how to introduce your family:
1. Introduce how many family members do you have and who.
2. Introduce what do they work as.
3. Do it one by one.
Maybe you can start with your dad first, mom and etc.

This is how it looks like when you
combined all together(this is mine though haha(^▽)):

わたしの かぞくは 9にんです。ちちと ははと あね 3にんと あに ふたりと おとうとと わたしです。ちちは エンジニア です。ははは きょおしです。あね 3にんとは こおむいんと かいしゃいんと ほいくしです。あに ふたり わ きょおしお ビジネスマン です。おとうとは がくせ です。わたしは だいがくせいです。
Well, how many family members do you have? (^^,)Don't forget to leave a comment in my cbox!

That's all from me, thanks for reading! \(^ヮ^)/

Portfolio 4: Self Introduction
Written at Monday, 26 December 2016 | back to top

In the Name of Allah the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

Hey guys! So today I'll be sharing on how
we want to introduce ourselves in Japanese.
How to do the
basic self introduction for beginners (like me(〃^▽^〃)):

1. Greet others with

"はじめまして

2. Introduce your name with

"わたしわ + Your name + です

3. Tell where do you come from with

"Your Country + から + きました

4. End with

"どうぞ よろしく おねがい します。".

Let's try using me as an example:

はじめまして。

わたしわ ザイナブ です。

マレーシアから きました。

どうぞ よろしく おねがい します。

Think you can understand? (o˘◡˘o)

It's okay. I understand that it's hard

for beginners to read hiragana(。゚(TヮT)゚。).

So here's the romaji version:

Hajimemashite.

Watashiwa Your Name desu.

Your Country+kara kimashita.

Doozo yoroshiku onegai shimasu.

Japanese really prioritize politeness in their daily life.
The word hajimemashite actually means like "Hello/Hi".
They usually greet others with hajimemashite while
bowing a bit to show respect to others.
Watashiwa means "I am". While desu it's like the polite ending particle.
On the other hand, kara kimashita actually
brings a meaning like "I came from".
And Doozo yoroshiku onegai shimasu
means like "Nice to meet you".
Well, this is based on my understanding.
If I'm wrong, don't hesitate
to correct me in my cbox okay? (⌒‿⌒)

Together we learn Japanese~!

That's all from me, thanks for reading! \(^ヮ^)/

Well, I'm curious on where do you come from. Leave your message on where do you come from in my cbox! I'll be glad to be knowing where do you come from. Well, that's all from me for now. (≧◡≦)

Portfolio 2: Hiragana,Katakana & Kanji
Written at Thursday, 22 December 2016 | back to top

In the Name of Allah the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

Hello guys! So..We meet again ヽ(・∀・)ノ .. How are you guys? Hopefully you guys are in good condition (╯✧▽✧)╯ .. So let's proceed. When you saw my post titled "Hiragana,Katakan & Kanji"... what do you guys think about? Before I entered this class, I've known that these characters are indeed Japanese characters. I was really curious and excited what is the difference between hiragana, katakana and kanji. The very basic thing if you guys want to understand more Japanese is that you need to master Hiragana & Katakan (I am on my wayy). Do you know what's the difference between Hiragana and katakana? Oh my, I'm so excited to share this with you guys! (☆ω☆)

The Difference between Hiragana, Katakana and Kanji

HIRAGANA

1. Hiragana is actually simplified forms of kanji

2. Hiragana is usually used for words that originally comes from Japanese (native Japanese words or particles).

E.g: こんにちわ [Pronounced as: Konnichiwa] (Hello), ねこ [Pronounced as: Neko] (Cat), etc.

3. Examples of Hiragana Charts:

KATAKANA

1. Katakana is actually simplified forms of kanji

2. Hiragana is usually used for foreign words or words that is not origin from Japan

E.g: オレンジ [pronounced as: orenji] (Orange), ピザ [pronounced as: piza] (Pizza), and etc.

3. Examples of Katakana Charts:

KANJI

1. Kanji were brought over from China(no wonder it does looks similar to Chinese Kanji) around the time of 4th century.

2. Unlike hiragana and katakana which is phonetic syllabary, Kanji is a set of characters that represent whole words.
3. Some examples of kanji characters:

Interesting right? Well, that's all from me for now. (≧◡≦)

P.s: Try and create your own name using the hiragana and katakana characters and don't forget to write it out in my cbox!  I would be very glad to read your name in hiragana/katakana.

Portfolio 1: Welcome to Japanese Class!
Written at Wednesday, 21 December 2016 | back to top

In the Name of Allah the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

My long-awaited class is finally starting on 29th of September 2016 !! \(≧▽≦)/  Ever since I've entered Islamic Science University of Malaysia (USIM) and ever since I get to knew that USIM offered 3rd language, I've been eagerly searching what languages have USIM offered. At first, I wanted to learned mandarin..unfortunately, the course was already full. In the mean time, I found out that my senior has been taking Japanese class. So, I asked her how to register and so on. Without delaying any further, I went to the Faculty of Pengajian Bahasa Utama (FPBU) on the 1st week after the orientation week to register. It was like a dream. (。T ω T。) I've been wanting to learn more on Japanese language since forever. But I could never imagined Allah will give this precious opportunity to me. Alhamdulillah(Thank you Allah)! (≧◡≦). Although I've registered early(more early than my friend who already get to know her Japanese Class earlier than me even she registered later than me), due to some administration circumstances, I've got my class a bit late(missed about 2 class. sobs (;ω;).) Well--that doesn't turned down my spirit to learn this language. I was so awkward the first time I attend the Japanese class since I came late[in searching for the right class plus my eyes were closed before that haha]. ごめんなさい せんせい! I am a type of doesn't go late to class, so I was so awkward, nervous and feeling guilty at that time. Alhamdulillah, thanks to that first experience, in my memory, the later class I'm not late anymore. So, guys...this is how my class looks like:

.
Pretty isn't it?? I really love how the classroom looks like. Feeling a bit like in Japan (*´▽`*).
So upon entering the class, ゾライダーせんせい (Zoraida-sensei) brief again on the course shortly since there is few newbie in the class. I was really excited even though I still didn't fully understand what sensei is teaching.

In any case if you want to learn Japanese, these are three important items you must have/visit:

1. Marugoto Book

2. Marugoto Learning Website

3. Minato Learning Website

Well, that's all I want to share for now, see you in the future posts,
I'll be sharing more about what I learned in this Japanese class,
so stay tuned!
